Message from The Principal
|
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!! Although I still know that the time is right, I also knew that it would not be easy to leave. I have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of love from all of you. It is difficult to put into words what everyone means to me. You have all become an important part of my life for the last nine years. You have all left footprints on my heart that I will carry with me as I leave St. Mary’s School. I have many fond memories of my time at St. Mary’s and I will miss all of you terribly.
However, I am looking forward to this change in my life. Many have asked about my immediate plans. I have no concrete plans, which really seems very foreign to me. I know when August comes it will hit me that I no longer have to get ready to start a new school year. Right now, I am just planning on enjoying life, reading, walking, and taking life as it comes. God has a plan for each of us and will continue to guide us on our life journey. I love each and every one of you and thank you all for the opportunity to be a part of your lives for the last nine years. I really feel that I have received much more than I have given.
The best gift that anyone can give to me is to continue to strive to keep St. Mary’s strong and viable for the children we serve in this area. Catholic School Education has been a way of life for me for the past thirty-seven years. I firmly believe in the mission of Catholic schools and, in particular, St. Mary’s School. We all have a responsibility to keep St. Mary's School strong. We do that by continuing to be the very best that we can be. It means that the staff needs to continue to grow in their own faith formation and to stay current with educational trends and curriculum updates. It means being good role models for being lifelong learners and sometimes stretching themselves beyond their comfort zone. For parents, it means making a commitment to St. Mary’s School, keeping your children here through eighth grade, being actively involved, supporting school activities and fundraisers, helping to improve school and to solve problems as they arise. It means inviting others to join St. Mary’s School – word of mouth is the best way to market our school. We continue to hear from all of the area high schools how well prepared our students are – in the way they treat others , in the way they act, and in the way they study. We pride ourselves on the excellent academics that our children receive at St. Mary’s School. We also pride ourselves on the excellent religious education that our students receive. It is the integration of Catholic Christian values into our every day experience that sets our school apart from others in the area.
Be good to one another, have a safe summer and come back next year ready for a great year. I will not say good-bye because I am absolutely sure our paths will cross. So until we meet again.
Thanks again for all of the special surprises these last few weeks; I will treasure them always.
Surrounded by the love of St. Mary,
Mrs. Wendy Sipka :) V
